Opening Hotel Boat&Co Amsterdam
Hotel Boat&Co in the Amsterdam Houthavens opened for the first guests on October 4th 2019. The hotel is the icing on the cake of the new climate-neutral city district of Houthavens. The peninsulas have each been given their own theme in the Image Quality Plan, with the theme “Amsterdamse School” for the Revaleiland, where the hotel was realised. Kollhoff & Pols architects see this island primarily as a continuation of the closed building blocks of the Spaarndammerbuurt and the heart of the new Houthavens. The atrium and the easily accessible food services are seen as a potential living room for the neighborhood where the new residents of the Houthavens, the residents of the Spaarndammerbuurt and hotel guests can mingle. At the head of the island, the municipality is currently realising a pier in the IJ and Waterplein, a wooden square that gradually descends to the water level and on which recreation can take place.
