Leidsche Rijn Centre - Utrecht
In recent decades, a new neighbourhood has emerged on the outskirts of Utrecht, where almost 100,000 people now live: Leidsche Rijn. A new city center has been designed to give this new district a worthy symbol of pride and to make it self-sufficient for future generations. The urban development plan was made by Jo Coenen, who supervises the implementation of the plan. Together with four other architects, Kollhoff & Pols won the competition by developing a plan consisting of parceled building blocks. In this way a natural and varied façade image is created, which ensures that the new part of the city is a logical addition to Leidsche Rijn from completion.
Within the overall plan, Kollhoff is working on the second phase, the buildings along "the diagonal" Centreboulevard through the plan. For block D4 we have received the building permit. Start execution is planned for 2026.
